We Never Stop Learning

Student teaching is upon me and I feel a bit of anxiety with a sprinkle of excitement building.  My co-operating teacher is very excited about having a student teacher in her classroom which is encouraging to me.  I also am familiar with this teacher as I have worked with her previously through my first clinical.  She has a wonderful classroom this year with only 15 students and she has mentioned to me that they all enjoy being in school and learning.  This is another high point of encouragement.  I can break myself in slowly and make sure that I refine everything I have learned through my education program.

I have already met with my supervising teacher and she has given me an update on what her class will be working on for the second semester. I will be meeting with her again when school resumes to go over last minute details before I officially start. I still have to schedule a meeting with my college teaching supervisor and my co-operating teacher to go over expectations of student teaching.

I have my schedule book all set for teaching, lesson plan ideas in my head for the semester and a good support team at the school that I will be teaching at.  I hope the nerves will subside shortly thereafter.

Well the observation hours are done. All major papers are complete with the exception of a few more classes until seminar 2. At least we get Christmas break off. I am very pleased with my student teaching placement. I get to hang out with the same teacher that I did my first clinical with. She is very nice and supportive, and creates an atmosphere for learning and comfort. I have already alerted the most of the staff that they will see me more frequently come the third quarter. I currently see the staff now through my current full-time job. All I need to do is gather some letters of recommendation from previous administration that I have worked with in the past and start putting together that wonderful portfolio slash resume and start beating the street for a teaching position for the fall.
